Chair: Tom Bambury was elected as Chair of the Deployment and Operations Committee in May 2019

Tom is head of the Optical Network Solutions team at Fujikura Europe. Prior to this he has held a number of business development and operations roles at AFL – a wholly owned subsidiary of Fujikura. He has over 20 years experience in the optical communications industry and previously worked at ESB Telecoms in Ireland, as well as Corning and Nortel Networks in the USA. He has been heavily involved in a number of FTTH projects at AFL and Fujikura in recent years.

Committee: This committee discusses all technical aspects of fibre networks. This includes the passive and active part of the network as well as the deployment methods, network architectures and new fibre technologies. The Deployment & Operations Committee has created white papers in the last year on new based technologies and innovations and innovative FTTH deployment technologies. The Committee is also responsible for producing and revising the FTTH Handbook, which was created a few years ago to help network operators understand the options available for fibre access network infrastructure.

Chair: Florian Damas was appointed as Chair of the Fibre Business Models Committee in October 2017.

Committee: the Fibre Business Models Committee was formed at the spring General Assembly 2017. The Fibre Business Models workshop we organised at the FTTH Conference 2018 - was a great success.

Chair: Eric Joyce was elected Chair of the Market Intelligence Committee in May 2018. Eric, beginning his Telecoms career in the Irish market, has gained over 18 years of experience in Access Networks from dialup copper technologies through to Next Generation PON FTTH Deployments.  Within ADTRAN, working alongside the Office of the CTO, coupled with his Business Development role in the EMEA region, he champions the latest and emerging products and ideas while providing internal and external education functions in these areas.

Committee: The objective of the Market Intelligence Committee is to provide information about the latest market data and market developments to the FTTH Council Europe. This includes topics like FTTH in real estate or financing of FTTH networks. The Market Intelligence Committee is responsible for the FTTH market panorama, including the FTTH European Ranking, and the FTTH market forecast.

Chair: Aurélie joined the FTTH Council Europe as Director, Communication & Public Affairs on 1 June 2017.Before joining the FTTH Council, Aurélie was Senior Public Affairs Manager at the European Competitive Telecommunications Association (ECTA), where she was responsible for developing and executing ECTA's communications and PR strategy, driving relations with the European institutions as well as with the media and leading on the organisation of flagship events. Prior to that, she worked in the European Parliament as political advisor to MEP Catherine Trautmann, directly dealing with the review of the EU's telecoms regulatory framework. Aurélie was appointed as the Chair of Policy & Regulation Committee in July 2020

Committee: The Policy & Regulation Committee has a clear focus on the regulatory and policy framework for fibre networks. This includes contacts to the European Commission and regulators as well as workshops and inputs for national and regional regulators and policy makers.
